Pascagoula River - Saltwater Fishing Report
It's Top Water Time
Early morning and late evening are giving us some pretty good top water action with trout up to about three pounds. A lot of them are not striking very aggressively, though, so we are missing a lot of them. They will get more aggressive as the water heats up over the next week or so.
In the middle of the day we are focusing on the redfish in the lakes and bayous. You can either fish them with live bait while anchored, or troll the marsh banks casting top water, spoons, jigs, or spinners. It doesn't matter much what you throw as long as you get it close to them.
Last year my best catches on artificial were between April 1st and May 28th. I expect to see the same this year from the looks of it.
Fishing the beautiful marshes of the Pascagoula River for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder. We leave the dock at daylight and fish for 7 hours. Everything is provided: tackle, live bait, lures, soft drinks and water. Just 5 minutes off I-10 in Moss Point, MS.
