Mississippi Sound & the Pascagoula River Marsh

Capt. Barry Brown
April 9, 2007
Pascagoula River - Saltwater Fishing Report

Winter Returns; Slows Down the Fishing

Where did THAT come from?!!!

Strong north winds and cold temperatures have stalled the spring fishing action for the last several days. We even had a night of heavy sleet over the weekend.

The good news is that we are forecast to return to the 80's on Wednesday, and that will crank up the fishing again. The water temperature will bounce right back up to the 70's and that will have us chunking the top water lures.

The bayous and lakes are filled with big schools of young pogy, and we are seeing large schools of finger mullet along the banks. These will hold the specks and reds in the area for months to come.

Book your trip soon to get in on the spring fishing.
