Mississippi Sound & the Pascagoula River Marsh

Capt. Barry Brown
October 29, 2007
Pascagoula River - Saltwater Fishing Report

Speckled Trout Galore!

The time we've been waiting for has finally arrived. The trout are schooled up and are biting anything you throw. There are also a few reds mixed in with them.

We are mostly using cocohoe jigs to catch these trout, only because you can unhook a trout, not have to rebait, and get another throw off. You just get more casts in when you fish with jigs.

We are also enticing a few larger trout with top water lures. We've had a few 5 pounders this week on top. You also get a lot of smaller ones on top, but you'll miss a lot of them due to short strikes.
