Speckled Trout Biting

Capt. Barry Brown
November 22, 2008
Pascagoula River - Saltwater Fishing Report

The cold fronts over the last week have driven the trout a little deeper. We were catching them on top water before the cold weather, but now we are using cocohoe jigs pretty much all the time. The fish are in 5 to 10 feet depths and are biting well.

The color we have been using most is chartreuse, but I'm sure they will hit several other colors. We've been working the bait slow on the bottom for best results.

I expect the good speck fishing on this same pattern to continue through December. Then we may need to move a little deeper and fish a little slower.
