Pascagoula River - Saltwater Fishing Report

The school trout are in all the usual places around the river system now. They are pretty easy to locate if you watch the bird action. When you get on them you can catch them with whatever you want to throw. My preference is a 1/4oz jighead with a cocohoe tail. That lure gives you the quickest hook and release so you can get back in the water for the next one.
Good sized flounder are still being caught on the points. They will stick around for another month or so. Jigs or live minnows are the best to catch the flatfish.
The reds are scattered around in all depths right now. We are still catching them on flats and are also finding some of them on the dropoffs along the river. Live bait is always the best way to get the reds, but they will hit the jigs and top water lures if you would rather use those.
Speckled trout should be easy to find and catch through Thanksgiving at least. The pattern will change if we get severe cold weather, but that usually doesn't happen until January.
