Bull Shoals - Freshwater Fishing Report

If you discover a great spot with great
crappie action, be sure to mark it on
your graph, map or just make special
note of it in your mind if you're the
type of person who can remember
locations well. This is where you will
want to come back again and again as the
crappie will most likely still be here
in the same seasons.
Overview Here is an overview of the
steps involved in catching crappie in
brush: * Locate the underwater brush
piles or shelters * Have your pole
rigged with ultralight gear (such as
2-to-4 pound test line) * Bait your pole
with a great crappie jig, live minnow
and stand up crappie bobber * Drop your
bait and line in just over the crappie
fish in 5 to 18 feet of water * Create
movements with your bait to attract the
crappie * When you feel a bite, pull the
line steady * Keep it steady and reel it
in carefully to claim your fish! Fishing
for crappie in brush can be rewarding
and when you learn the right techniques
for pulling it off, it doesn't have to
be too difficult either. When you find
what works, you can come back later
today, tomorrow or even another day and
find the same great fishing successes.
