Bull Shoals - Freshwater Fishing Report

The dog days of summer hit us early this year! One of the hottest and driest July's we can remember. The water temp has shot up to 90 degrees in some spots! Not much water being generated in or out right now. Bull Shoals is now 3 ft below power pool and is expected to continue dropping about an inch a day. Watch for sand bars and submerged logs if you are planning on traveling up the lake toward powersite dam! We had 6 broken props brought in last week!

Water Temp 87 to 90 degrees

Water Level 650.9

Water is Clear to Stained

Black Bass – Good on Jigs, 10′ Plastic Worms and Shallow Crank Baits. Look for Bass in deeper water around 20 to 30 ft range. Early morning and after sundown has been the best. Throw a dark jig or shaky head into steep rock bluffs and points after dark. Also drag a Carolina Rig over the drops in the sand flats. Worm Color – Plum and Blue Fleck.

Walleye – Fair to Good on Live Minnows, silver spoons and night crawlers. The best reports have been up the lake around the Barker's Hole area. Much cooler water.

Crappie – Good to Fair on live minnows. I have had several fishermen come in with some huge crappie this week! Brush piles in the mouths of coves in about 20 to 30 ft range.
