This pattern will stay until FALL

Bull Shoals - Freshwater Fishing Report

Two fishing patterns have surfaced. In the evening large numbers of Crappie and White Bass are being caught using minnows under lights. Look for depths of 50 foot ,or so, against the lake bluffs that have standing timber.Put your crappie lights in and try fishing around the 35 foot depths. (you may have to make minor adjustments until the best depth is found.)Live minnows can be purchased at either Marina and Shockeys bait and tackle on highway HH in Isabella.

During the day Kentucky Bass are being taken in large numbers using small soft shelled craw fish. The fish are holding at the thermocline off the main lake points waiting to ambush schools of feeding shad .While waiting for the "breaks" these Bass are feeding off the bottom on crustaceans and craw dads.Small soft shell craw dads can be purchased at Shockeys in Isabella.

TIP: While waiting for the surface activity always keep a top water lure ready at hand. I prefer a SPOOK. Also a spoon is good. The smaller fish will feed on the surface; the older and larger fish will be below them feeding on the dropping-injured minnows.
