Table Rock Lake in Branson, MO Fishing Report

Capt. Eric Prey
May 29, 2011
Table Rock - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake - Table Rock
5/30/11:
Kimberling City Area: The Corps held the gates open all week bring the lake level back to the top of the flood pool by the end of the week. Current has been the deal all week; with the amount of water running through the lake fish have been holding on points through out the lake. The old bank line has been the best depth right around fifteen feet deep. Jewel football and spider jigs and Chompers tubes remain the most productive bait, drag both slowly along the bottom to draw strikes.

James River: The dirty water in the James has made things a little more difficult in the river. Chompers McCutchen spinner baits slow rolled along the edge of flooded trees has been producing well, Jewel Swim it Jigs have also been very productive. By the end of the week the current slowed and some fish start moving into the bushes, Jewel Eakins jigs and Chompers Wild Hogs flipped in deeper isolated bushed and trees became more productive.

White River: The water in the White River remains stained to down right muddy around the Kings River. The old bank line remains important above the Kings and around Baxter where Chompers tubes and Jewel Football jigs are accounting for numbers and quantity. In the dirty water McCutchen spinnerbaits, Strike King Red Eye Shad and Jewel Swim It jigs are producing Largemouth moving into the flooded cover to feed; pay attention to isolated cover versus a bank load of flooded trees.

Dam Area: The lower end is still dominated by the smallmouth bite; Jewel Spider jigs and Chompers Tubes are still the best offering. Work the bait slowly along the bottom around the old bank line to twenty five feet deep. Early and late there is a topwater bite, it is very short lived though, spooks, sammys and pop r's are effective in and around flooded brush, but as soon as the sun appears it is over.
