Table Rock - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake - Table Rock
6/14/11:
Kimberling City Area: Water levels have finally stabilized at Table Rock, the Corps have the lake down to 926 and change with plans to hold levels at 925 until flooding in the Missouri and Mississippi subside. The lack of current has changed the bite through out the lake making the point bite weaker and the shallow bite much stronger.
While fish can still be caught on main lake gravel points with Chompers Tubes and Jewel jigs the fish have moved deeper into twenty to thirty feet of water. In the shallows largemouth have been caught on Texas rigged Chompers salty sinkers and fries.
James River: The James remains productive with the slacked generation; large numbers of Largemouth have moved into the shallows and can be caught on a variety of baits. Chompers salty sinkers and Jewel Flippin jigs with a beaver trailers have been very effective around flooded cover on calm sunny days and on windy days Chompers McCutchen spinnerbaits and RC Crankbaits are working well around the same shallow cover. Target isolated cover less than ten feet deep to be effective.
White River: The White River has been one of the strongest areas of the lake for big fish over the past week. Just like the rest of the lake most of the largemouth have moved shallow with let up in current flow, target shallow isolated cover on open banks with Chompers salty sinkers and tubes or Jewel football jigs. The point bite has remained strong despite the slack current, tubes and Jewel spider jigs continue to be effective around twenty feet deep.
Dam Area: Smallmouth continue to dominate the lower end, while the point bite has slowed it is still fairly strong from fifteen to twenty feet deep on Chompers tubes and Jewel spider jigs. Further up into Long Creek the largemouth bite has turned on around isolated cover on open banks; Texas rigged Salty Sinkers pitched around isolated bushes and into flooded grass and weeds will produce quantity and quality. Early and late there is a good buzzbait beginning to emerge on shallow flats from Brushy Creek to Yokum.
