Table Rock Lake in Branson, MO Report

Capt. Eric Prey
July 21, 2011
Table Rock - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake - Table Rock
7/21/11:
Kimberling City Area: Water levels continue to fall as the Corps has dropped the lake to only five feet above power pool and electricity demands require more generation. The bite has started to change in the mid lake are with smallmouth moving deeper into twenty to thirty feet of water on gravel points. Chompers tubes and Jewel Football jig remain key baits for these fish, work both slowly along the bottom to be successful.

James River: The shallow bite continues to impress up the James, Chompers Magnum Hawg worms around brush piles ten to fifteen feet deep have been a great tactic for shallow largemouth. Deep crankbaits are starting to produce as well with DD 22's and Fat Free shad baits working well on gravel roll offs and channel swings in the upper James. Jewel football jigs will also produce in these areas brown purple flash with a green pumpkin brush hog trailer has been the best offering.

White River: Fish are being caught deep and shallow on the White; deep fish are coming from deep tree tops in fifty to sixty feet f water on Chompers Drop shot worms or off the ends of long gravel points forty to fifty feet deep. Brown purple or plum have been the best colors. Shallow fish are being caught out of brush and rock piles on Jewel football jigs and deep diving crankbaits, make multiple casts from different angles until you find the sweet spot.

Dam Area: The lower end is still dominated by the deep bite Chompers or Robo drop shot worms on drop shot rigs remain the best option on the ends of gravel points or in deep trees. Smallmouth can be caught up shallow on gravel as well; Chompers tubes and Jewel Spider jigs will produce early and late in the day. Further up Long Creek there has been a very good shallow bite in and around brush and rock piles.
