Kimberling City Area: Generation has settled down to a one or two units run throughout the day, water temperatures have risen to the high 60's and low 70's. The bite in the mid lake has been shallow, most fish have either spawned or are moving up to spawn and can be caught less the 10' deep. Jewel spider jigs and squirrel heads, Tightlines UV tubes and split shot rigged fish doctors have been the dominate baits.
James River: Great water color throughout the James River, visibility is around three feet and the fish are holding very shallow. Look for shallow wood cover to be the most productive. Jewel jigs, UV tubes and shallow crankbaits have been the best options. Concentrate on the shady areas of cover to be successful. Chompers McCutchen spinnerbaits have been working very well on cloudy and windy days; fish the same shallow wood cover on transition banks to be successful.
White River: The White river continues to produce quantity and quality. Most of the fish are less than ten feet deep and can be caught Jewel jigs, Chompers Tubes, UV hogs and beavers. Much like the James River look for shallow wood to be holding most of the fish, it doesn't seem to matter what type of bank as long as you have some type of shallow wood.
Dam Area: The best bite on the lower end is on a tube; Tight Lines UV or Chompers tubes in dark colors are the most effective. Look for gravel / rock transition areas near point to out produce long stretches of monotypic banks. Most of the fish have been a little deeper o the lower end with the best bite coming eight to twelve feet deep. Further up Long Creek there has been a very good shallow crankbait and spinnerbait bite; Chompers McCutchen spinnerbaits and RC crankbaits worked through shallow wood have been producing numbers as well as some very nice fish.
