Kimberling City: Summer patterns are fully locked in throughout the lake: drop shot rigs deep, football jigs and Carolina rigs have all become the dominate patterns over the past week. Drop shot rigged Chompers, ROBO and Tightlines UV worms have been very effective in and around deep brush piles on main lake and secondary points in the mid lake area. Look for brush 25' – 35' deep on gravel points to be the most productive. Jewel PB&J football jigs with J Tail or Chompers trailers have been working on these same locations, work the bait slowly along the bottom. Use Tightlines or Chompers creature baits on a Carolina rig here as well, work the bait along the bottom paying close attention wherever there is a drop or rock pile.
James River: Two basic patterns have been the most effective on the James over the past week; both involve brush piles and working baits slowly. Jewel football jigs worked through brush 15' – 25' deep close to drop offs on points throughout the mid James have been hard to beat. The pattern does not produce a lot of bites but the quality is there. Texas rigged big worms will work in these same areas; plum and red bug 10" worms have been best, work the worm through deep cover to draw strikes.
White River: The most consistent topwater bite has been on the White River; early and late there are fishing chasing schools of shad on gravel flats and points, cast spooks, sammies and skitter pops to the surfacing fish. Once the sun comes up a combination of Jewel football jigs, Carolina rigged plastics and drop shotting deep brush and trees will produce from Baxter to Shell Knob.
Dam Area: The deep bite is still king on the lower end, deep brush piles from 25' – 40' deep have been key to success. Drop shot rigged Chompers, Yamamoto, Tightlines and ROBO worms have been the ticket. Most of the fish will be cruising around brush early and then will move into the pile as the sun comes up. There is a dock bite beginning to develop on the lower end as well, Jewel Pro Spider jigs with Eakins craw trailers worked around the shady areas of docks from 15' – 25' deep have been producing some nice largemouth.
