Branson Area: The deep bite continues to dominate on the lower end of the lake. Most of the fish are positioned on main lake and secondary gravel points and will feed fairly shallow early and late and hold tight to the bottom once the sun comes up. Sammies, spooks and pop-r's are all effective on fish schooling on the surface, hold your cast until a fish comes to the surface and cast in front of them to draw strikes. Once the sun comes up change to a drop shot rig with a Chompers, ROBO or Tightlines UV finesse worms and work it on the bottom to draw strikes.

Kimberling City: The deep bite is strong in the mid lake area as well. Drop shot rigs on gravel points can put a quick limit in the boat with Chompers, ROBO and Tightlines worms. There is a good football jig bite developing in and around deeper brush piles, look for brush 20 ‘- 30' deep and work a Jewel 5/8 oz. football jig through the pile to draw strikes. These same locations will produce with Carolina rigged creature bait; work the bait slowly along the bottom from 15' – 25' deep paying close attention to any drops.

James River: The James is setting up with a couple of strong summer patterns right now; Texas rigged 8" – 12" worms fished in brush and other cover in less than 20' deep will produce some very good quality. Look for brush piles close to drop offs to target larger fish. The second pattern is working a Jewel football jig on deep drops off the sides of main lake points. These "roll-offs" will hold multiple fish so when one is caught make several casts to the same drop. Above Flat creek there is a deep crankbait bite starting to emerge, it is hit or miss but when it is on it has resulted in several quality fish.

White River: The best topwater bite has been up the White River; early and late Sammies, Spooks and Pop-R's have all been working on points with surfacing fish. Much like in the Branson area hold your cast until you see fish surface and throw the bait in front of the fish to draw strikes. The deep bite is as strong up the White River as anywhere on the lake; gravel main lake and secondary points have been holding most of the fish. Lastly, Jewel football jigs and Carolina rigged creatures have been working in and around brush and rock piles on main lake gravel points.
