Branson: Fishing guides are seeing few changes over the past week. The shallow bite is still much stronger than the deep bite all over the lake. SPRO and Megabass jerkbaits have been the top presentation; look for bass to be holding near wood cover on mixed gravel and rock points near deep water in larger creek arms and on the main lake. On windy days these same locations will produce with a wiggle wart or other medium diving crankbait.
Kimberling City: Much like Branson fishing guides are having more success shallow than deep in the mid lake area. Wiggle warts and jerkbaits on mixed rock and gravel points have been the primary pattern. Jewel football jigs in watermelon candy and PB&J are very productive in the mid lake as well. Look for gravel points to be the best locations particularly those with deep water close by.
James River: The James River has been better later in the day than early. Branson fishing guides have found the bite improves significantly once the sun has had a chance to warm the shallows especially where the water is stained. The same patterns working on the lower and mid lake areas have been working on the James; Jerkbaits, medium depth crankbaits and Jewel football jigs have all been effective from 5' – 15' deep.
White River: Transition banks continue to be the most productive areas in the White River. Look for mixed rock and gravel banks on the inside of main lake and secondary points with deep water close by to be the best areas. On calm days Jewel football jigs in watermelon candy and PB&J have been the best option while windy days a Wiggle Wart or SPRO McStick will put more fish in the boat.
