Branson: Fishing guides continue to find warm water and shallow fish on the lower end of the lake. Wiggle Warts and Bandit 300 crankbaits continue to put both numbers and quality in the boat. Look for transition areas where rock changes over to gravel to be the most productive; deep water close by doesn't hurt. The stickbait bite is still happening in Branson, fishing guides have been targeting isolated standing timber and brush or rock piles. SPRO McStick and Megabass Vision 110 have been the most productive baits with the majority of fish coming 10' - 16' deep close to wood or rock cover.

Kimberling City: Just like Branson fishing guides are finding fish shallow in the mid lake area as well. Mid depth crankbaits like Wiggle Warts and Bandit 300's have been the primary bait of choice on rocky points and channel banks with transitions to a mix of rock and gravel. Depending on wind and sunlight the fish have been as shallow as two or three feet deep. There is a definite shift to a Jewel Football or Pro Spider jig in the mid lake as well; look for these same transition areas to produce a little deeper with watermelon candy and PB&J Jewel jigs and Tightlines UV jig trailers.

James River: The usual early spring patterns continue on the James River vs. the rest of the lake, the stained cooler water is tougher in the morning and then becomes some of the best fishing late in the day once the sun comes up and warms the shallows. Early a SPRO McStick or Megabass Vision 110 is the bait of choice; look for deep to shallow transitions with isolated cover to be the most productive. Once the sun begins to warm the surface and shad move up in the water column an Umbrella rig with Tightlines UV Big Jerks in natural shad colors will put numbers and quality in the boat.

White River: For the purposes of this report the White River really needs to be broken up into at least two sections; The White and the Kings. On the White all of the patterns listed for the Kimberling City area have been working for Branson fishing guides. Wiggle Warts, Stickbaits and Jewel jigs have been the ticket. The Kings has been a different story; the stained water and warmer temperatures has fish located much shallower. Jewel flippin' Finesse jigs with Tightlines UV jig trailers have been putting some quality fish in the boat in and around log jams and heavy cover in bluff pockets and cuts. Channel swing banks have also been very effective with crankbaits, make sure to run the bait into wood or rock cover to be effective.
