Branson: Water temperatures have stabilized throughout the lake; early in the day 47 – 48 degrees is the norm with temps rising to close to 50 degrees later in the day in Branson. Fishing guides continue to utilize the same patterns targeting fish 5'-15' deep with stickbaits, crankbaits and jigs. Look for transition areas to be the most productive, SPRO or Megabass stickbaits in shad with blue or purple hues have been the most productive.
Kimberling City: Shallow fishing is still the best option in the mid lake area just like in Branson. Fishing guides have done well targeting fish from 5' – 12' deep with Wiggle Warts and Bandit 300 crankbaits. Most of the fish are coming on wind blow transition banks and points where rock changes over to pea gravel. On calm days these same locations have been productive with Jewel football and spider jigs in PB&J or watermelon candy matched with a Tightlines UV twin tail or jig trailer.
James River: Umbrella rigs continue to dominate the James River. Branson fishing guides have been keying in on fish holding close to isolated tree tops around 20' deep. Make long casts beyond the tree and swim the rig over the top of the tree to draw strikes. Tightlines UV big jerk and broken back jerk have been very productive baits on the rig. There is a flipping bite starting to emerge around shallow wood cover in the upper James and Flat creek. The bite has been better later in the day once the sun warms the stained water from recent rains.
White River: Recent rain has brought water levels up and added quite a bit of color to the Kings River. Branson fishing guides continue to do well with wiggle warts and Bandit 300 crankbaits but dirty water requires brighter colors like firetiger or watermelon seed. The flipping bite has turned on with the flooding of more timber and log jams. Jewel Flippin' Finesse jigs in black blue flash with a Tightlines UV jig trailer has been a top performer.
