Branson: Until we get a break in the weather pattern fish will remain in the same locations in Branson. Fishing guides continue to catch bass shallow on a combination of stickbaits, crankbaits and Jewel Football jigs. Look for transition areas where steep rock banks change to a mix of rock and gravel to be the most productive areas right now. Branson fishing guides have had success working stick baits perpendicular to these banks allowing the bait to pause around five seconds between jerks. If there is wind on the same bank move up shallow and parallel the bank around eight feet deep with a wiggle wart or Bandit 300.
Kimberling City: The same shallow patterns are working in the mid lake area as in Branson. Fishing guides continue to do well with stickbaits and crankbaits, a Jewel football jig has come on strong over the past week as well. Look for transition banks to hold most of the fish, work a PB&J or brown purple flash 3/8 oz. Jewel football jig with either a J-Tail or Tightlines UV jig trailer in green slowly along the bottom from 5' – 15' deep to draw strikes. Pay close attention to the jig if it falls off a rock or ledge as a lot of strikes have been coming as the bait drops in front of fish hiding in the shade of a rock or ledge.
James River: Umbrella rig domination continues in the James River. Branson fishing guides continue to put numbers and quality in the boat working a rig with Tight Lines UV Shad and Big Jerk over the top of submerged timber around 20' deep on steeper points and banks throughout the James River. Retrieve the rig as close to the timber to draw strikes from waiting fish. There is a shallow crankbait bite starting to emerge in the James and toward the back of larger creek arms.
White River: The same patterns working in the Kimberling City area are working for Branson fishing guides in the White River from Baxter through Big M. Stickbaits, jigs and crankbaits have all been very effective. There is a split shot rig bite starting to emerge here as well; look for gravel points and flats that have a substantial drop off close by. Tightlines UV finesse worms and craws in UV green or green red flake have been the best baits and colors. Cast the rig to around 5' deep and drag it back along the bottom to 15' – 18' deep.
