Branson: Fishing guides continue to target fish moving shallow on the lower end of the lake. Bass are moving up and starting to cruise the bank looking for spawning locations. Wiggle warts and spinnerbaits are working well on windy days, work secondary points with a mix of rock and gravel from the bank out to 10' deep. Jewel Pro Spider jigs and Squirrel heads are working on these locations on calm days; natural colors like PB&J and watermelon candy have been effective jig colors and green pumpkin finesse worms have been the best bait on a squirrel head.
Kimberling City: The bite is similar in Kimberling as it is in Branson. Fishing guides are targeting shallow fish that are beginning to stage for the spawn with Jewel Pro Spider and football jigs add to the mix Tightlines UV Bill Lowen tubes and you have the bases covered. Just like in Branson fishing guides have been doing well with natural colors including UV green and UV green red flake. Secondary points near spawning pockets have been the most productive areas.
James River: The stained water of the James River warms fastest on sunny days. The backs of larger creek arms have seen surface temps approaching 60degrees in the afternoon. Look for fish to be holding on the last channel swing of these creeks, target them with Jewel Eakins jigs and Tightlines UV Beavers, despite the stained water natural colors have been the most productive. Further up the river there is a shallow crankbait bite developing around wood cover on gravel flats.
White River: Bass are in full pre-spawn in the upper reaches of the White River and in the Kings River; Branson fishing guides are not seeing fish on beds yet but they are targeting fish cruising the bank in search of the best spawning locations. Weightless Tightlines UV Senkos have been very effective on fish cruising the bank. On windy days spinnerbaits and shallow crankbaits have also been effective particularly around wood cover. On the main lake Jewel Jigs, Tightlines UV tubes and split shot rigged finesse worms are all working well on mixed rock and gravel points.
