Branson: Fishing guides are finding fish in a true per – spawn pattern on the lower end of the lake right now. There are a few beds but most were made before the cold front came through and are vacant as of Wednesday. Everywhere you look you will see fish cruising shallow either looking for areas to make beds of looking for males on beds, a week of warm temperatures and the spawn will on full strength. Targeting these cruisers can be difficult particularly on calm days when there is little or no wind. Branson fishing guides have been doing well with weightless UV Senkos and Broken Back Big Jerks, allowing either bait to sit motionless for some period of time until moving it.

Kimberling City: A few more beds can be seen in the Kimberling City area than in Branson, fishing guides are still not seeing fish locked on the beds but you will occasionally see a "buck" male circling a bed trying to attract a mate. Weightless presentations are working here just like on the lower end when the wind is calm, if there is wind you can be a little more aggressive with these fish. Jewel Pro Spider Jigs in PB&J or green pumpkin candy flash with J-Tail or Tightlines UV Jig Trailers have been very effective; work either from the bank out to about 15' to draw strikes from cruising fish.

James River: Rain late last week and rain again today with have the James River full of cover and probably some fresh debris to negotiate. Branson fishing guides have been targeting Largemouth shallow in and around spawning pockets from Aunts Creek to Cap Fair. Jewel Pro Spider and Finesse Football jigs in brown purple flash and Texas Craw have been favorites matched with a Tightlines UV Green Jig Trailer. Key in to any cover, boat dock, stump or laydown in or around the mouth of spawning pocket to be successful.

White River: Depending where you are on the White River you can find fish in a couple of stages of the spawn. From Baxter to Shell Knob fish tend to be in the same pre – spawn cruising mode as in Kimberling City or Branson. Fishing guides have been using the same techniques and baits here as on the lower end. IF you travel up the Kings river you will find fish locked on or closer to being locked on to beds (of course today's rain will make them much harder to see). For fish on beds a Tightlines UV Lowen Tube in green red flake has been extremely effective. Make multiple pitches to the bed until the "sweet spot" is found that will make the fish strike.
