Branson: Fishing guides are finding spawning fish holding on beds all over the lower end of the lake right now. Most of the fish are males and for the most part very few are locked on but there are a few catchable fish in every cove. Bed fishing has been best with smaller baits like Tightlines UV baby hogs, 3' tubes and finesse worms on Jewel 3/16oz. squirrel heads. UV Green with red flake and blood has been the dominate color. Tubes and squirrel heads have also been working on secondary points targeting fish that have either not pulled up yet.

Kimberling City: Branson fishing guides continue to see more and more fish locking onto beds in the mid lake. The fish here seem to be a little easier to catch and are definitely further along than the ones on the lower end. The same tactics that work around Branson are working here with a little more success; UV tubes, hogs and finesse worms on Squirrel heads have been best. Backing out and fishing secondary points with Tightlines UV tubes or Jewel Pro Spider jigs have been very successful as well, look for fish to be holding between 10' – 18' feet deep.

James River: The coldest water on the lake is in the James River, Branson fishing Guides have seen lower 50's in the morning but the stained water does warm to the upper 50's on sunny afternoons. The spawn is a little further behind on the lower end than in the mid lake or Branson. Fishing guides have more success targeting pre spawn fish on secondary points near spawning pockets with Tightlines UV tubes, Jewel Football and Spider jigs and Carolina rigged UV hogs.

White River: Almost every phase of the spawn can be seen on the White River right now; the upper end of the White and Kings has fish locked on beds in almost every cove, from Campbell point to Baxter fish are locked on and pre spawn. Just like the rest of the lake the best baits to target fish locked on their beds has been Tightlines UV tubes, baby hogs and finesse worms in blood or UV green with red flake have been the best baits especially when fished on a 3/16 oz Jewel Squirrel head.
