Table Rock Lake Fishing Report 7-3-2009

Capt. Pete Wenners
July 3, 2009
Table Rock - Freshwater Fishing Report

July 3, 2009
Lake Level: 916.67
Water Temp: Main Lake: 85-87 River Arms 85-92
Kimberling City, Baxter, Campbell Point & Dam area to Aunt's Creek~
The thermocline has set up around 26' - 30' in these areas. This is the key depth to keep your bait in. Catching fish lots of different techniques. The drop shot working well on main lake long flat points, bluff ends, and around deep docks. Some of the fish are suspending at 25' - 30' or just off the bottom around 26' - 32'. Bottom depth doesn't matter
much, the key depth to where the fish are biting is 25' - 30'. 4" finesse worms workingin watermelon candy, plum & watermelon red. Chrome or white jigging spoons are successful in boat stalls or around deeper main lake docks.

If all else fails use night crawlers on your drop shot rigs. Football jigs and Carolina rigs will work on the gravel flats and points around 25' - 30'. There has been a little top water action early. Keep an eye out for surfacing white bass, small top water baits and spoons will catch these fish.

River Arms
There has been a good top water bite early and lots of smaller fish, you have to work through the smaller fish to get a bigger bite. We have had luck fishing football jigs, Carolina rigs, or Shakey head worms fished on the bottom 10' - 20' around schooling fish, we are finding more success with these type baits for bigger bass. Fish have been on channel swings, humps and points where the main river channel comes in close.
Deep diving crankbaits such as DD 22's, Fat Free Shads, & DT 16 & 20 in shad colors are working some days in those areas also. When the fishing slows down I've had our best luck with 4"-6" finesse worms in watermelon red, green pumpkin red, or watermelon candy worms, rigged on 3/16 and 1/4 oz. Shakey head, fishing them very slow.
Good Luck!!
