Branson: Fishing guides have begun to see a turn in the attitude in the fish on the lower end of the lake. While the bite is not on fire it has certainly improved over the past week. The best bite has been on a combination of stickbaits and Jewel jigs; look for fish to be holding close to channel swing banks toward the back of larger creek arms. Secondary points near channel banks have been best with a stick bait; look for fish to be suspended around 10' deep in these areas. Jewel spider jigs in Okeechobee blue or PB&J have been effective in these same areas.
Kimberling City: The bite has also improved in the Kimberling City area; stickbaits, Jewel jigs and umbrella rigs have been the most effective presentations. Much like in Branson, fishing guides have been keying on channel swings to find fish. Jewel jigs and SPRO or Megabass stickbaits have been effective much like in Branson. Add to these bites an umbrella rig and the fishing is starting to turn around in the mid lake.
James River: Despite the colder water up the James River Branson fishing guides have been doing well. Jewel jigs have been very effective on both main lake and larger creek arm channel swings. Look for fish to be on the last two channel swings of the larger creek arms moving shallow when sun warms the water and holding in the channel when cloudy. The white bass have begun to run up the James look for large schools chasing shad from Cape Fair to Bridgeport.
White River: The White River continues to have the most consistent bite on the lake. Jewel spider jigs on channel swing banks, stickbaits on channel points and umbrella rigs continue to be steady producers. Add to that a solid wiggle wart bite and you have the only area of the lake that is holding to a normal spring pattern. The wiggle wart bite has been on channel banks on the main lake and in the larger creek arms, parallel these banks 8' – 12' deep and maintain bottom contact to draw strikes.

The trout fishing is fantastic right now, jigs have been dominate but several baits have been working. Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Just about any color will work but white and grey have been better closer to the dam and brown and olive better downstream
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Cooper creek to below the Branson Landing.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, white or grey up around the trophy area to around fall creek, and sculpin and olive further downstream near Monkey Island and Branson Landing.
• A few better fish have been caught on small stickbaits; Rapala and Yozuri in gold or rainbow patterns have been best. .
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats and drop offs with mixed colors of eggs was a dominate pattern
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
