Branson: Fishing guides have seen a dramatic turn around on the lower end of the lake. Warming water and rising lake levels have made fish more active and has moved them shallower. The best patterns on the lower end have been with an XPS single tail grub, a storm wiggle wart and a Jewel Spider jig. Rig a smoke or salt and pepper single XPS single tail grub on a ¼ oz. head, target main lake transition areas where rock changes to gravel, count the bait down to a variety of depths until you start getting bites. The wiggle wart bite has been better on windy days, look for 45 degree rock banks to be the best locations. Channel swing banks close to spawning areas have been key for a jig. Jewel Pro spider jigs in green pumpkin candy and PB&J have been best matched with a J Tail grub or UV Beaver.

Kimberling City: Just like in Branson fishing guides have found fish moving shallow with warmer water and rising lake levels. The same patterns of a grub, jig and wiggle wart are working in this portion of the lake as well. Key on transition banks close to spawning areas to be effective. In addition a few fish have been caught on a Jewel Squirrel head this past week. A 3/16 oz. Squirrel head matched with a 4" UV green red flake work has been producing some better quality fish a little deeper off the bank in these same areas.

James River: The James River has warmed up very fast over the past week; dirty water and sunshine are a great combo to move fish into the shallows. Much like in Branson fishing guides have been doing well with wiggle warts and Jewel jigs from Aunts Creek to above Cape Fair; main lake and larger creek arm channel swing banks have been the key locations, look for areas of smaller rock and pea gravel to best. White bass continue to run up the James as well, the best bite has moved to above Bridgeport into the upper reaches of the lake.

White River: Still holding on as the most productive area of the lake the White River will produce with a variety of patterns. Much like in Branson fishing guides have been putting fish in the boat with Jewel Jigs, Wiggle warts and by swimming XPS grubs. In addition there have been several fish taken this past week on a split shot rig. Most of these have been fish that are already staging on secondary points near spawning areas particularly in the larger creek arms. Set your rig up with a ¼ oz. weight and about a 16" leader, the best baits have been French fries or UV Finesse worms. Drag the bait on the bottom from 3'- 15' deep to draw strikes.

Trout fishing continues to be great as the Corps of Engineers has been running water fairly consistently all week. Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.

• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, white or grey up around the trophy area to around fall creek, and sculpin and olive further downstream near Monkey Island and Branson Landing.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Just about any color will work but white and grey have been better closer to the dam and brown and olive better downstream
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Cooper creek to below the Branson Landing.
• A few better fish have been caught on small stickbaits; Rapala and Yozuri in gold or rainbow patterns have been best. .
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats and drop offs with mixed colors of eggs was a dominate pattern
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
