Branson: Fishing guides are seeing fish on beds all over the lower end of the lake right now. Several are locked on and more will be locked on by the time the weekend gets here. If you like to sight fish now is the time to come to Table Rock. The best presentations are smaller baits fished with a light weight. Branson fishing guides have been doing well with Tightlines UV green red flake finesse worms and tubes on either a Jewel 3/16 oz. squirrel head or a light weigh Zeka rig. Split shot rigs and Squirrel heads are also working for staging fish on secondary points near spawning coves.

Kimberling City: The spawn is a little further along in the Kimberling City area. Branson fishing guides have been targeting fish with the same Tightlines lures and head combos wherever beds are found. Staging fish have been a little bigger than the spawners, look for them to be holding between 6' – 15' deep on secondary points at the mouths of spawning pockets. Jewel Squirrel head jigs with UV finesse worms and beavers have been the best presentation.

James River: The rain over the weekend has added some more color to the James River making sight fishing a little more difficult than in Branson. Fishing guides have been targeting bedding fish with UV baits but have done better with solid colors like UV green or black / blue. If you are having trouble finding beds remember that fish will use rock and wood cover to spawn next to, usually backing up to the cover so they don't have to protect the full 360 degree area of the nest.

White River: The further up the White River you go the further along in the spawn the fish are. Better fish have locked on from Shell Knob on up while you will still see mostly "cruisers" down to Kimberling City. The same presentations are working for spawning fish on the White. Split shot rigged UV finesse worms and fish doctors have been the ticket to target staging fish, work secondary points from 5' – 12' deep near spawning pockets to be successful.

The Corps of Engineers has let up a little on generation over the past week, when the water is running work the drift when it is shut off pay attention to deeper areas of the lake. Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.

• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, white or grey up around the trophy area to around fall creek, and sculpin and olive further downstream near Monkey Island and Branson Landing.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats and drop offs with mixed colors of eggs was a dominate pattern
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Just about any color will work but white and grey have been better closer to the dam and brown and olive better downstream
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Cooper creek to below the Branson Landing.
• A few better fish have been caught on small stickbaits; Rapala and Yozuri in gold or rainbow patterns have been best. .
The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
