Branson: Fishing guides report the spawn is done on the lower end; there are still a few fish guarding fry but for the most part the entire lake has transitioned to post spawn. Early and late there is a great topwater bite, Spooks, Sammies and Redfins are all working on main lake and secondary points. Points with standing timber have been better than barren ones. Once the sun comes up switch to Zoom Flukes or Tightlines UV Brokeback Jerks in pearl or watermelon red. Fish the fluke weightless on a 4/0 hook, allow the bait to sink around 10 seconds and retrieve with a stop and go allowing the bait to pause around 5 seconds between jerks.

Kimberling City: Just like in Branson, fishing guides have been doing well with topwater baits early and late and then transitioning to flukes as the sun comes up. Once the fluke bite subsides Bass Pro Shops Tender Tubes in Puke and Green Pumpkin have been the dominate pattern. Gravel and mixed gravel and rock points have been the best locations, drag the tubes along the bottom from 8' – 18' deep to draw strikes.

James River: The shallow bite is still the best bite for Branson fishing guides in the James River. Topwater baits early and late have been working for post spawn fish on main lake and secondary points, Jewel jigs matched with Paca chunks around laydowns and shallow cover and Carolina rigged UV Hogs have all been effective less than 10' deep in the James. Most of the fish on a Carolina rig have been on gravel points and flats close to deeper water. Work the rig from the bank out to 15' deep paying close attention to drop offs and ditches.

White River: The topwater bite has been outstanding in the White River. Branson fishing guides have been catching post spawn fish suspending around standing timber on the main lake and in the larger creek arms. All three species of bass can be caught on Jewel Squirrel heads with UV finesse worms and beavers, look for fish to be shallow early and then move out to 10' – 20' deep as the sun gets high. Gravel and mixed gravel rock points have been the best locations.

Limited generation and higher boat traffic has made trout fishing a little tougher this past week. Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats and drop offs with mixed colors of eggs was a dominate pattern
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, white or grey up around the trophy area to around fall creek, and sculpin and olive further downstream near Monkey Island and Branson Landing.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Just about any color will work but white and grey have been better closer to the dam and brown and olive better downstream
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Cooper creek to below the Branson Landing.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
