Branson: Fishing guides continue to target fish in deep water on the lower end. Drop shot rigs with UV Finesse worms, Chompers drop shot worms and ROBO worms have been the baits of choice on a drop shot rig. Look for fish to be holding in a couple of locations; deep channel swings on the main and lake and larger creek arms have been holding large schools of fish. Look for areas when the channel comes close to a point or flat with a sharp drop to be the best locations. The second pattern is on main lake gravel run out points that have deep water close by, work the areas where the point drops into 40' – 60' deep.

Kimberling City: The same deep bite working is working in the mid lake as in Branson. Fishing guides have been targeting schools of spotted bass on channel swing drops and drops off of main lake gravel points. In addition there is a strong football jig on main lake and secondary points in larger creek arms. Jewel ½ oz, or 5/8 oz. football jigs in PB&J or green pumpkin candy have been very effective. Match both colors of jig with a green pumpkin J tail trailer and work in and around brush piles and rock piles from 18' – 30' deep. .

James River: The stained water of the James has fish holding shallower than anywhere else on the lake, Branson fishing guides have been using a combination of baits throughout the day to keep fish coming to the boat. Early there has been a buzz bait bite around shallow wood cover on flats and gravel points, as the sun comes up switch up to Jewel Pro Spider jig with a Paca chunk trailer and as the sun gets high Carolina rigged hogs on gravel points near deep water will keep the bite going.

White River: The same patterns working in the mid lake and for Branson fishing guides in Branson will work on the White River. Drop Shots, Football jigs and Carolina rigs are all effective from Baxter to Big M. Add to that a modified Ned rig and you can catch fish all day long on the White River. Branson fishing guides have been increasing the weight of the rig to target deeper fish. 3/8 oz. stand up and mushroom heads have been the ticket on the heavy Ned rig. Look for fish to be holding 15' – 25' deep on gravel and mixed gravel points.

There has been almost no generation over the past week; the Corps has been running water in the afternoon for a couple of hours to meet power demands but little generation in the morning. The Department of Conservation has aggressively stocked in preparation for the holiday so the trout fishing has been fantastic. Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover have been effective from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats is a dominate pattern
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats and drop offs with mixed colors of eggs.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Cooper creek to below the Branson Landing.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
