Branson: Fishing guides are still finding the deep bite the most productive way to fish in the dam area. Tightlines UV finesse worms, Chompers drop shot worms and ROBO worms on a drop shot rig continue to be a main stay in Branson. Fishing guides look for long gravel run outs with isolated brush or rock piles from 25' – 45' deep, suspended fish around standing timber on channel swing banks and close to large commercial docks. Most of the fish are suspending from 35' – 50' deep over as much as 120' of water.

Kimberling City: The deep bite is just effective in Kimberling as it is in Branson. Fishing guides are also targeting fish holding tight to the bottom with Jewel Football jigs from 25' – 35' deep on main lake and secondary points in larger creek arms. Most of the fish are holding close to wood or rock cover near channel drops on these points. Anywhere you find a gravel or mixed rock point that has a side dropping into deep water there will be fish close by.

James River: Rain earlier in the week has kept the water stained in the James, stained water keeps the fish shallower than anywhere else on the lake. The further up the James you go the more debris and color you will find, this will eventually wash down and clear up as it makes its way to Kimberling City and then Branson. Fishing guides have been targeting fish in and around shallow brush piles and shoreline cover with Jewel Jigs and large worms early in the day. As the sun rises move out to 10' – 20' deep and cast Jewel Football jigs to main lake points.

White River: Just like in Kimberling City and Branson fishing guides have been targeting schools of spotted bass with drop shot rigs on channel banks and gravel run out points. Jewel football jigs have been effective here as well, gravel and mixed gravel points with steep drops and wood or rock caver have been productive from 18' – 30' deep. Carolina rigged brush hogs and French fries will also work on these points, a 3' or longer leader has been best.

Very little generation again this past week; the Corps has been running water in the afternoon for a couple of hours to meet power demands but little generation in the morning.. Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.

• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes. .
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover from Cooper Creek through Branson.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats is a dominate pattern
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Cooper creek to below the Branson Landing.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
