Branson: Fishing guides continue to chase surfacing fish for the first couple of hours every day. Spooks, Sammies and pop-r's continue to be the baits of choice, watch for fish chasing shad and make cast in front of them. As the sun rises fish will settle down into deep trees and under boat docks; drop shot rigged UV worms, Chompers drop shot worms and ROBO worms have been the best offerings for those holding in deep trees, while dock fish can be caught with Jewel Pro spider jigs and craw combos.

Kimberling City: Great topwater bite in the mid lake just like Branson, fishing guides will chase fish holding close to deep water and throw a variety of topwater baits. Drop shot rigs are effective as the sun rises look for fish to be holding in and around deep trees Jewel ½ and 5/8 oz. football jigs have been working as well, green pumpkin candy and PB&J have been the best colors matched with a a green pumpkin J-Tail trailer. Look for fish to be 12' – 20' deep on pea gravel points.

James River: The James is dominated by a strong shallow bite, big worms, Jewel jigs and shallow running crankbaits have all been very effective less than 10' deep. Look for brush or other wood cover and make multiple cast from different angles. Branson fishing guides are also doing well with Jewel football jigs and Carolina rigged brush hogs in the James. Gravel roll off points on the main lake are holding both numbers and quality.

White River: The best topwater action on the lake is on the White River; from Campbell point to Big M fish can be found surfacing early in the day and they will stay up for as much as two hours around wood cover on points. Sammies, spooks and Pop-R's are all effective. Branson fishing guides are also targeting fish with deep crankbaits on channel swing banks around Big M, look for points on the end of channel swings that drop into deep water. Carolina rigged brush hogs and Jewel football jigs are also effective on the White; gravel and mixed gravel and rock points have been the best locations.

Much like the past three weeks generation has been extremely limited and the bite has been a little tougher. . Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.

• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Fall Creek to below Monkey Island.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats is a dominate pattern
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover from Cooper Creek through Branson.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
