Branson: Fishing guides are watching water temperatures drop and fish become more active with the shorter days and cooler air temperatures over the past week. There is still a solid early morning topwater bite; watch for surfacing fish and cast spooks, Sammies and pop-r's. Spy baits have also been effective around schooling fish; cast beyond the school and allow the bait to fall to around 5' below the surface, retrieve the bait slowly through the school to draw strikes.

Kimberling City: A solid topwater bite early and late has been the ticket for Branson fishing guides in the Kimberling City area. As the sun rises a combination of drop shot rigs and Jewel Football jigs have kept the action going all day. Look for fish to be holding tight to the bottom on gravel points and flats from 25' – 35' deep. PB&J and green pumpkin candy Jewel jigs have been the best colors matched with a green pumpkin J tail trailer.

James River: A strong shallow bite has anglers fishing less than 15' deep from the mid James to above Cape Fair. Jewel finesse jigs and Magnum casting jigs have been the ticket around laydowns, brush piles and rock piles from the bank to 15' deep. Buzz baits on cloudy and windy days will produce less than 2' deep, make casts to the bank and work back to the boat at a 45 degree angle to draw strikes.

White River: The White River continues to produce some of the best fishing on the lake, Branson fishing guides are putting numbers and quality in the boat with a variety of techniques. Early and late in the day the topwater bite is phenomenal, watch for surfacing fish and cast Sammies, Spooks, Pop-R's and Spy baits to catch fish chasing shad. As the sun comes up switch to Jewel football jigs and fish gravel flats and points from 25' – 35' deep. The drop shot bite is still very strong as well; look for fish to be suspended over tree tops from 35' 55' deep.

Much like the past three weeks generation has been extremely limited and the bite has been a little tougher. . Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.

• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover from Cooper Creek through Branson.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Fall Creek to below Monkey Island.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats is a dominate pattern
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
