Branson: Fishing guides continue to watch water temperatures drop as the days grow shorter and fall has started. There is still a strong topwater bite early and late; watch for surfacing fish around standing timber and larger boat docks, cast spooks, Sammies and Pop-R's to surfacing fish. As the sun comes up switch to a Jewel squirrel head with either a UV Beaver or finesse worm and work mixed rock and gravel points on the main lake and in larger creek arms. The drop shot bite is still effective when the sun is high in the sky; deep trees are still producing 35' – 55' deep.

Kimberling City: Much like in Branson fishing guides are throwing topwater baits early and late in the day. Jewel football jigs have been the ticket once the sun comes up; fish rock and gravel mixed points from 15' – 30' deep on the main lake and in larger creeks. PB&J or green pumpkin candy have been the best colors with a green pumpkin J Tail trailer.

James River: The shallow bite continues to dominate the James River; Branson fishing guides have been using buzz baits early in the day on mud flats toward the back of larger creeks and pockets. Look for shallow wood cover to hold most of the fish and make multiple casts to each piece of wood to draw strikes. Shallow crankbaits are also effective in these areas, RC crankbaits in chartreuse shad banged into cover will produce both quality and quantity.

White River: The White River is just fun right now. Branson fishing guides have been catching fish from the bank to 60' deep depending on how you want to fish. Jewel Squirrel heads with finesse worms or beavers are producing from the bank to 25' deep, Jewel Football jigs will do the same both on mixed gravel and rock points on the main lake and in the larger creek arms. There is a great drop shot bite on gravel points 25' – 35' deep right on the bottom. Suspended fish can be caught in tree tops 35' – 55' deep as well.

Much like the past three weeks generation has been extremely limited and the bite has been a little tougher. . Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.

• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats is a dominate pattern
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover from Cooper Creek through Branson.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Fall Creek to below Monkey Island.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
