Branson: Fishing guides have watched water temperatures drop and fish move shallower over the past week. There are still several fish schooling on the small pods of shad throughout the lower end, cast Sammies, spooks and pop-r's when fish surface. On windy days a War Eagle spinnerbaits in white and chartreuse or white have been very effective on ledge banks 2' – 10' deep. On calm days these same locations will produce with Jewel Spider jigs and Squirrel head jigs from 5' – 15' deep.

Kimberling City: Much like in Branson, fishing guides have been targeting surfacing fish early in the morning and moving out a little deeper as the sun rises. Jewel Spider jigs and Squirrel heads with UV Beavers or finesse worms have been very effective on both ledge and gravel points and pockets. Look for fish to be shallower early and moving to around 15' deep on calm sunny days. Just like on the lower end a spinnerbait on windy days is hard to beat.

James River: Shallow fish have been the ticket for Branson fishing guides on the James River. On windy days look to mixed rock and gravel points and pockets to hold fish less than 5' deep and throw spinnerbaits and crankbaits more or less parallel to the bank. Bandit 200 and Strike King 3XD crankbaits in both shad and crawdad patterns have been very effective. On calm days a Jewel Pro spider jig or Magnum Casting jig is effective in these same areas from 8' – 15' deep.

White River: The White River continues to be the most productive portion of the lake. Branson fishing guides are targeting topwater fish early and late, Jewel Spider, Football and Squirrel heads are all effective throughout the day and the spinnerbait and crankbait bite on windy days is hard to beat. Gravel and rock mixed points and pocket on both the main lake and in larger creek arms have been the best locations. Look for fish to be 3' – 15' deep on cloudy or windy days and from 8' – 20' deep on sunny one.

Generation has been limited to afternoon hours making the fishing a little tougher, cooler weather does have the trout on the move. Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover from Cooper Creek through Branson.
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Fall Creek to below Monkey Island.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats is a dominate pattern
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
