The Fishing on Table Rock is as good as we've seen it in 10 years. Now is the time to come experience some of the best deep water fishing in the country!

Branson: Fishing guides continue to have a great deep bite on the lower end of the lake. Fish are still schooling up in and around the "gut" of bigger creek arms holding tight to deep trees. The best bite is still 35' – 55' deep over as much as 90', look for shad and the fish will be close by. Most of the fish are still being caught on Jewel or Chompers spoons and Rapala Ice Jigs. Position your boat over the school and work either bait just over the fish to draw a strike.

Kimberling City: Just like in Branson, fishing guides have been catching a lot of fish deep in the Kimberling City area of the lake. Jewel or Chompers spoons and Rapala Ice Jigs are the deal here as well. The fish are suspending near tree tops and off points around 35' – 50' deep. There is a shallow bite as well in the mid lake, stickbaits on main lake and secondary points with isolated timber have been the best locations; look for points close to channel swing or ledge type banks to be the most productive. Mega Bass Vision 110 or SPRO McStick baits have been the most effective especially ones with a little purple in them.

James River: The crappie bite has slowed a little over the past week; Branson fishing guides are still catching some but they have definitely seen a move to deeper water than in early December. Most of the crappie are coming on bluffs and steep banks and the best bite has been on pole timber vs. brush. Look for isolated timber in 30' or more to be the most productive, 1/16 oz. jigs allowed to sink to around 20' deep have been the ticket. The umbrella rig bite has been strong over the past week; standing timber on or just inside of points have been the best locations with the majority of fish coming around 15' – 20' deep suspended around timber.

White River: The deep bite has been very good on the White River as well. Branson fishing guides are fishing fish holding 30 – 60' deep over as much as 100' in the larger creek arms and suspended around tree tops. Jewel and Chompers spoons and Rapala Ice Jigs are the norm here as well. Some really nice largemouth were caught last week on Jewel Pro Spider jigs on steeper channel swing banks toward the back of these same creeks, look to the last couple of channel swings to be the most productive areas and fish from the bank into the creek channel to be productive.

Strange generation pattern this past week made fishing interesting, the Corps of Engineers has been running 3 – 4 generators in the middle of the day for about 3 hours and then no generation at all the rest of the day. The bite changes as the water starts and stops flowing. . Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

With Current:
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats
• Without Current
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float. .
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
