The Fishing on Table Rock is as good as we've seen it in 10 years. Now is the time to come experience some of the best deep water fishing in the country!

Branson: Fishing guides continue to have a great deep bite on the lower end despite the cold. Shad have schooled up along the creek channels of the major creek arms. Fish have been holding close the creek channels in tree tops ambushing the shad from 35' – 55' deep over as much as 120' deep. Jewel Scuba Spoons and Rapala Jigging Raps have been the two baits of choice when targeting these fish. Locate the shad and the fish will be close by. A few better quality fish have been caught on stickbaits this past week as well. Steep ledge banks with isolated timber have been the best locations, throw Mega Bass Vision 110's or SPRO McStick's toward the bank and allow them to pause 5 – 10 seconds between twitches.

Kimberling City: The stickbait bite is a little stronger in the mid lake than in Branson, fishing guides have been targeting steep ledge banks in the larger creek arms with Mega Bass Vision 110 and SPRO McStick concentrating from 10' – 25' deep with fish suspended about 7' deep. The deep bite is strong in the Kimberling City area as well, most of the fish have been on tapering points that drop into major creek channels. Look for the fish to be close to the bottom 40' – 50' deep on cloudy days and suspended 35' – 50' deep over as much as 70' on sunny days. Jewel Scuba Spoons and Rapala Jigging Raps have been the best baits.

James River: Two different bites have started to take shape in the James River; a very strong stickbait bite and a solid umbrella rig bite can be found from the Aunts Creek to around Cape Fair. Branson fishing guides have been targeting fish with Mega Bass and SPRO stickbaits on steep ledge banks and points. Look for points that have some isolated cover; boat docks, standing timber or brush piles are all great cover this time of year. Most of the fish are suspending around 7' deep over as much as 30' and will be tight to cover on sunny days. The umbrella rig bite has been around 10' – 15' deep on steep main lake and secondary points and banks with timber as well. Cast beyond the timber and bring the rig back as close to the timber as possible to draw strikes.

White River: Much like the rest of the lake the White River has a great deep bite; most of the fish are holding close to the main creek channel from 35' – 55' deep over as much as 100'. Jewel Scuba Spoons and Rapala Jigging Raps have been the best baits, find the shad and you will find fish close by. The Stickbait bite is also strong on steep ledge banks and points on the main lake and in the larger creek arms. There is a good jig bite around large community boat docks with Jewel Pro Spider jigs and Finesse Craw combos. Look for docks on or close to secondary points and make pitches all the way back to the center walkway. The best depth range has 12' – 30' deep.

The Corps of Engineers continues to mix up the generation based on power demand. On some days there is constant generation of one or two units on other days they run four units for three or four hours twice a day. The bite changes as the water starts and stops flowing. . Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

With Current:
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats
• Without Current
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float. .
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
