Branson: Fishing guides continue to target fish deep with a combination of Jewel Scuba Spoons and Rapala Jigging Raps. Look for the majority of fish to be from the mouths of the creeks to about midway back in larger creek arms holding close to timber adjacent to the creek channel. The best bite has been from 35' – 55' deep over as much as 120' of water. A good secondary pattern is Megabass and SPRO stickbaits on steep ledge rock banks with isolated timber. Most of the fish are suspended about 10' down over as much as 30' of water.

Kimberling City: there is a solid deep bite in the mid lake just like in Branson. Fishing guides are finding fish suspended in tree tops close to main creek channels in larger creek arms. Most of the fish have been around 30' – 50' deep over as much as 90' of water. There have also been a few fish holding on long gravel points on the main lake. Look for these fish to be tight to the bottom from 25' – 55' deep. The stickbait bite is stronger in the mid lake than in Branson. Fishing guides are using SPRO McStick and Megabass Vision 110 baits on steep ledge rock banks and points with a little wind. Fish have been suspending around 8' deep over as much as 25'.

James River: The James has developed a couple of good bites over the past week; the umbrella rig bite is still strong around deep tree tops on deep points and drop offs. Look for fish to be suspended 10' -20' deep over trees that top out around 25' deep. There is a strong bite on bluff walls in the mid and upper James River. Branson fishing guides have been using Jewel Squirrel head and Pro Spider jigs, casting toward the bluff and working them back to the main channel. Look for areas where the bluff is broken down or where there are "rock slides" to be the most productive.

White River: As usual the White River continues to have a variety of patterns. The deep bite with Jewel Scuba Spoons and Rapala Jigging Raps is just as strong here as it is in the mid lake and Branson. Fishing guides have also been doing very well with Megabass Vision 110 and SPRO McStick stickbaits on steep banks. There is also a solid jig bite on Jewel Magnum casting jigs and Finesse craw combos on the larger community docks. Look for dock on or close to points to be the most productive and work stalls from 10' – 25' deep.

Generation has been limited to early morning for the most part over the past week. The bite is definitely better early but fish are still being caught all day long. The bite changes as the water starts and stops flowing. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

With Current:
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats
• Without Current
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float. .
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
