Branson: Fishing guides managed to get out a couple of times this week now that the snow is off the launch ramps. The lower end of the lake is dominated by a deep bite. Jewel Scuba spoons and Rapala Jigging Raps have been the best tow baits, look for fish to be holding a little shallower than they have been over the past month. The best bite has been on gravel points and flats with isolated brush or trees, look for fish to be tight to the bottom in and around the wood cover from 32' – 45' deep.

Kimberling City: There is a solid deep bite in Kimberling city on the same pattern as Branson. Fishing guides have been doing very well with Jewel Scuba Spoons and Rapala Jigging Raps on gravel flats and points from 32' – 42' deep. There is also a solid stickbait bite in the mid lake. Look for steep ledge rock banks to be the most productive areas, any wind will make this bite significantly better. Megabass vision 110's and SPRO McStick baits have been the most productive with translucent colors working better on sunny days and solid colors best when it's cloudy.

James River: Two patterns have been working for Branson fishing guides up the James River this past week; Umbrella rigs and Jewel Jigs have been dominate. Main lake and secondary points in larger creek arms have been the spot to throw and umbrella rig. Match the rig up with either Keitech or Zoom swimbaits and then concentrate on isolated pieces of wood cover on chunk rock and ledge rock points. On cloudy days the fish will be a little deeper and on windy sunny days they will move up shallower in the water column. Jewel magnum casting jigs with a beaver trailer have been effective on channel swing banks in the creek arms. Look for transition areas where the channel swing leaves the bank to be the best spot.

White River: The deep bite has been very strong up the White River just like in Branson. Fishing guides have found the same shallower bite from 35' – 45' deep on points and flats. Jewel Scuba spoons and Rapala Jigging Raps are king in the White just like the rest of the lake. There is a good stickbait bite as well, ledge rock and chunk rock banks and points have been key areas. Jewel Magnum Casting Jigs are effective particularly around large boat docks on points.

The Corps of Engineers continues to generate current early in the morning and late in the day. Most days there are three or four units running from 7:00 to 11:00 then nothing till after dark.Fishing has been good either way, but current always makes the trout a little more frisky. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

With Current:
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats
• Without Current
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float. .
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
