Branson: Fishing guides have continued to see fish on the move to spawning locations over the past week, while there are a few smaller buck males up shallow on beds most of the better fish are content to cruise the bank at this point. A couple of strong patterns have emerged over the past week; Bass Pro Shops XPS grubs continue to be an effective option and Ned rigs have started to produce as well. Both techniques have been best in and around spawning pockets; look for gravel pockets and points leading into them are target fish from 5' – 15' deep.

Kimberling City: Things are changing in the mid lake just like in Branson, fishing guides are seeing more fish guarding beds in the Kimberling City area but the spawn is not quite in full swing as of today. Ned rigs, Jewel Squirrel heads and split shot rigs are all very effective presentations. Again look for spawning pockets and the adjacent points to be the most productive areas and work the trio of baits from the bank out to 15' deep to get bit.

James River: What seems like unending rain showers have kept the water in the James River stained to downright muddy in places. The dirty water has kept fish shallow, raised water temperatures and moved the spawn time table up in the river and the larger creek arms of the James. There are definitely more fish on beds here than in mid lake or Branson. Fishing guides have been doing well in and around spawning pockets despite some limited visibility. Look for shallow cover in these areas and pitch Bass Pro Shops Tender Tubes and Jewel Squirrel head finesse worm combos to draw strikes from fish guarding nests.

White River: The White River continues to have some of the best fishing on the lake. Branson fishing guides have been targeting fish moving up to spawn on shallow gravel points and pockets from Baxter to around Eagle Rock. Ned rigs, split shots and Bass Pro Tender Tubes have been your best options. Look for fish to be from the bank to around 12' deep holding fairly deep on sunny days and moving shallower on windy or cloudy days. Further up into the Kings River the spawn is on in full swing; warmer water has males guarding beds in almost every spawning cove.

Pretty much constant heavy generation over the past week, though the Corps of Engineers had shut the water off for a little while both Thursday and Friday. With the water on full blast you're better off fishing in the creeks with it off for a little while the trout will get into a more traditional pattern. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a couple of floats 6' – 8' down.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
