Branson: Fishing guides are targeting fish deep on the lower end of the lake. Fish are surfacing on the lower end but most are just slapping at the bait rather than eating it. Jewel Classic Spin-X matched up with a Bass Pro Speed Shad or Zoom Super Fluke is a better option around the surfacing fish; cast the Spin-X past the surfacing fish and retrieve it quickly a few feet below the water's surface. Once the sun comes up a drop shot rig with a Tightlines UV finesse worm or Chompers drop shot worm worked on gravel points from 25' – 35' deep on the bottom will continue the action.

Kimberling City: The early morning topwater bite is much stronger in the mid lake than in Branson. Fishing guides continue to catch fish early on Spooks, Sammies and Pop- R's when schooling fish are present. As the school settles the Jewel Classic Spin-X is the ticket, work with a Super Fluke or Speed Shad below the surface as deep as 15' down to draw strikes as the fish settle down. Once the sun comes up move to gravel points and flats with a drop off close by and throw Jewel Pro Spider jigs or Football jigs from 15' – 25' deep.

James River: Fish remain shallow on the James especially above Cape Fair; Buzz Baits, Whopper Ploppers and other top water baits have been effective around shallow wood cover on flats in the upper James. As the sun rises a mix of Carolina rigged brush hogs, Texas rigged worms and Jewel Football jigs from 12' – 20' deep on gravel points and flats will continue to put fish in the boat. Closer to the confluence with the White River Jewel Scuba Spoons fish 22' – 35' deep on gravel flats and points will fool spotted and white bass.

White River: Branson fishing guides love the White River right now; Jewel Classic Spin-X and top water baits will put numbers and quality in the boat until almost 10:00 am on gravel and mixed gravel and rock points. As the sun comes up fish can still be caught on these points with; Jewel Spider Jigs, Squirrel Heads, Football Jigs and Bass Pro Shops Tender tubes. Target areas from 15' – 25' and pay close attention to drop offs or roll offs into deep water. If you prefer to fish deep Drop Shot rigged UV or Chompers worms fished on gravel points 25' – 35' deep and suspended in tree tops will work throughout the day.

The continual generation finally stopped on Wednesday, the Corps has Table Rock at normal summer pool so generation should be back to normal as well. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

• Night Crawlers on a drift rig have been a great option from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a couple of floats 6' – 8' down.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
