Branson: Fishing guides are still doing best with drop shot rigs on the lower end. Long gravel points from 18' to 25' deep have been the best locations, look for fish to be holding tight to the bottom and drop Tightlines UV finesse worms, Chompers drop shot worms or Yamamoto cut tails. There have been a few fish starting to suspend over these points as well; Jewel Classic Spin-X and Dixie Jet Spoons have been working when fish are suspended. Cast either over the point, count it down to around 10' and retrieve with a slow stop and go retrieve.

Kimberling City: Still a stronger shallow bite in the mid lake than in Branson. Fishing guides have been doing well on gravel points and flats from 10' – 20' deep with Bass Pro Shops Tender Tubes in Puke and green pumpkin. Jewel Squirrel heads with Tightlines UV Beavers and Finesse worms or Jewel Pro Spider Jigs have been effective as well. Fish will move deeper as the sun comes up so start fishing around 10' deep early and move out to 20' deep by 10:00 am.

James River: The water is stained and most of the debris has settled in James. There is still a strong shallow bite from Aunts Creek on up to Cape Fair, look for fish to be holding tight to cover less than 10' deep. Flipping and pitching bait have been the most effective; Jewel Finesse flippin' jigs and Magnum Casting Jigs with Paca Chunk trailers, Texas rigged Tightline UV 10" worms and UV Hogs fished tight to cover have been producing numbers and big fish. Above Cape Fair there is a strong Deep Crankbait bite shaping up; Fat Free Shad and DD 22 fished on ledges and deep brush piles have been producing when your timing is right.

White River: Branson fishing guides continue to love the White River; there is a strong shallow bite on pea gravel points and flats from Baxter to Eagle Rock. Look for fish to be less than 20' deep and target them with Bass Pro Shops Tender Tubes, Jewel Spider Jigs and Squirrel Heads with Tightlines UV Finesse Worms and Beavers worked slowly along the bottom from the old bank line to 20' deep. Better fish have been coming on Jewel 3/8 oz. Finesse Football jigs and J-Tail trailers in the same areas. You won't get as many bites but the quality improves with the larger profile bait.

Lake levels are lower on Taneycomo but there has been current every day. The bite has been very strong with a number of larger rainbows and brown trout being caught this week. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

• Night Crawlers on a drift rig have been a great option from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a couple of floats 6' – 8' down.
• Egg and scud fly dropper rigs are working on drift rigs from Short Creek to Monkey Island.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
