Branson: Fishing guides continue to find the lower end of the lake a little tougher than the rest of the lake. Most fish being caught in the dam area have been on three presentations; Drop shot rigs, spoons and football jigs. Most of the fish ae coming relatively shallow, less than 25' deep on gravel points and around large commercial boat docks. Tightlines UV finesse worms and Chompers drop shot worms have been the best offerings on a drop shot worked tight to the bottom on gravel points and suspended around large docks. These same locations will produce with a Jewel 3/8 oz. finesse football jig in green pumpkin candy with a green pumpkin J Tail trailer; work the jig from 10' – 25' deep on gravel points. Jewel Scuba spoons have been effective around large docks as well; pitch and cast to shady areas to draw strikes from suspended bass.
Kimberling City: The mid lake has been much more productive this week than Branson. Fishing guides have been targeting fish less than 20' deep on main lake and secondary gravel points with a combination of Jewel jigs, tubes and drop shot rigs. Jewel Pro Spider jigs in green pumpkin candy and Okeechobee craw or 3/8 oz. finesse football jigs matched with green pumpkin J Tail trailers have been the most effective presentations. On cloudy days the fish will be less than 15' deep and on sunny days they will be closer to 20'. Bass Pro Shops Tender tubes in Puke and Green Pumpkin have been effective as well, fish them slowly along the bottom from 10' – 25' deep. Drop shot rigs with UV finesse worms or Chompers drop shot worms worked tight to the bottom from 18' – 25' deep will produce as well.
James River: The shallow bite is very strong up the James River. Branson fishing guides have been targeting fish less than 15' deep for most of the last week. Jewel Jigs, Bass Pro Tubes, Crankbaits, Buzzbaits and even Frogs have been effective. Gravel points on the main lake and in the larger creek arms have been the best locations to throw Jewel Spider Jigs and Bass Pro tube; look for the fish to be less than 10' deep early and moving deeper as the sun comes up. Deep diving crankbaits are producing as well; Strikes King 6XD and Rapala DT16 baits have been producing larger fish on isolated rock piles and brush piles close to points. Shallow flooded grass and bushes have been producing on Buzzbaits and frogs especially with a little wind or cloudy cover; fish are moving shallower than 5' deep when it's windy or cloudy.
White River: The White River is still the most productive end of the lake, Branson fishing guides are catching fish less than 20' deep from Baxter to above Eagle Rock and even shallower in the Kings River. Jewel Pro Spider jigs and 3/8 oz. Finesse football jigs with J Tail trailers have been the deal on gravel points on the main lake and in larger creek arms from 10' – 18' deep from Baxter to Campbell Point. Further upstream you will find fish as shallow as 5' deep on the same gravel points. In the Kings River fish have been extremely shallow, 4' deep or less, and can be caught by flipping bushes and throwing buzzbaits and frogs over top of the flooded cover.

Still a lot of current on Lake Taneycomo, the Corps of Engineers have been running at least two units on most days and kicking it up to four units in the afternoon. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:
• Night Crawlers on a drift rig have been a great option from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a couple of floats 6' – 8' down.
• Egg and scud fly dropper rigs are working on drift rigs from Short Creek to Monkey Island.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
