Branson: Fishing guides have watched the water cool and fish move over the past couple of weeks. The water is still stained with less than 5' of visibility even close to the dam, despite this fish have moved slightly deeper over the past couple of weeks instead of shallow. Early and late in the day fish can be found schooling around large community and condo docks over deep water; Chug Bugs, Spooks and Pop-R's have been the best options while fish are schooling. Once the sun rises move to mixed rock and gravel points and fish Jewel Finesse Football Jigs in green pumpkin candy or PB&J matched with a J-Tail trailer from 10' – 20' deep. Most bites are subtle so pay attention your line and the weight of the jig.

Kimberling City: Fish have been shallower in the mid lake than in Branson, fishing guides are targeting fish on mixed gravel and rock points on the main lake and in the larger creek arms. A one two punch of Jewel Pro Spider jigs and Jewel Squirrel heads fished from 7' – 18' deep will put a mixed bag of smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass in the boat. Larger baits on the Jewel Squirrel head have been more effective than finesse baits. Tightlines UV Enko, Zoom Magnum Finesse jigs and UV Beavers have all been effective offerings.

James River: Early and late better quality fish can be found in the back of large creeks on the James River. Creek that have shallow flats in the back have been more productive than steep creeks. Bass Pro Shops buzz baits and Zoom Horny Toads have been the most effective baits. Fish both as slow as possible around shallow Blue or Green Pumpkin Candy wood cover like laydowns, stumps and brush. It is surprising how many fish will hold in the back of some of these creeks. Once the sun comes up move to main lake and secondary points and fish Jewel Pro Spider jigs in Okeechobee or Green Pumpkin Candy with a green pumpkin J-Tail from 7' – 15' deep.

White River: The White River is still a favorite for Branson fishing guides; shallow or deep fish are being caught throughout the White. Shallow fish can be caught on top water baits and buzzbaits, look for schools of shad to clue you into locations. Jewel Pro Spider and Finesse Football jigs have been the ticket on mixed rock and gravel points. From the confluence with the James to Shell Knob fish will be from 12' – 24' deep, above Shell Knob fish will be shallower from 8' – 18' deep. Deep fish can be caught on Jewel Scuba Spoons and Drop Shot rigs around vertical cover; bridge pilings, deep tree tops and bluff ends will all produce.

The Corps of Engineers continues to run a lot of current to meet power demands and bring Table Rock lake levels down to normal summer / Fall pool. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a couple of floats 6' – 8' down.
• Night Crawlers on a drift rig have been a great option from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Egg and scud fly dropper rigs are working on drift rigs from Short Creek to Monkey Island.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
