Branson: Fishing guides continue to find fish relatively shallow on the lower end of the lake. Most fish have been holding less than 20' deep on mixed ledge rock and gravel points throughout the dam area and can be caught with a combination of Jewel Squirrel heads, Jewel Magnum Shaky heads and Finesse football jigs. Match the shaky head with a larger bait; Tightlines UV Beavers and UV Enkos in UV green or UV green / red flake or Zoom Speed Craws have all been excellent choices. Best colors on the Finesse Football jig have been green pumpkin candy or Okeechobee blue with a green pumpkin J-Tail Trailer. Most of the bites will come as the bait falls from one ledge to another so pay close attention as the bait is falling.

Kimberling City: The shallow bite has been even stronger in Kimberling City than in Branson. Fishing guides have been targeting fish on the same mixed ledge rock and gravel points but have found the fish to be less than 15' deep on most days and even shallower when it's windy or cloudy. Jewel Finesse Football Jigs and Squirrel heads are the ticket here as well, use bulkier baits to "weed out" some of the smaller fish. Early and late and just about any time when it is cloudy there is a topwater bite in Kimberling City; Spooks, Sammies, Pop-R's and even frogs have been producing around boat docks and timber.

James River: The backs of larger creeks are the ticket in the James; Aunts, Piney, Woolly and other major creek arms that flatten out toward the back have been outstanding for numbers and quality fish. Look for laydowns, stumps and other shallow wood cover to be holding most of the fish. Bass Pro Shops buzz baits in black worked slowly around and into the wood cover are producing violent strikes. A weightless UV Enko in UV Green allowed to lay next to a stump or lay down will draw strikes once the sun rises. Branson fishing guides are also doing well on mixed ledge rock and gravel points in the James as well, look for fish to be less than 15' deep.

White River: Still the most impressive arm of the lake the White River is producing quality and numbers like nowhere else. Branson fishing guides are targeting fish on mixed ledge rock and gravel with the same presentations as in the Dam and Kimberling City; Jewel Squirrel Heads and Finesse Football jigs have been the ticket. Top water fish can be found on the main lake and in the creek arms, look for schools of shad that are migrating back into the creeks around standing timber to attract fish. Buzz baits and weightless UV Enkos in the back of larger creeks will produce better quality fish.

With Table Rock just below normal fall pool the Corps of Engineers has been generating a small amount of current daily which has kept the trout biting. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a couple of floats 6' – 8' down.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Night Crawlers on a drift rig have been a great option from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Egg and scud fly dropper rigs are working on drift rigs from Short Creek to Monkey Island.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
