Branson: Fishing guides have been watching the lake level rise and water temperatures drop over the past week. Fish are still moving slowly into a normal fall patterns; Jewel Finesse Football jigs, Squirrel Heads and Magnum Shakey Heads have all been effective on mixed rock and gravel points throughout the lower end. Most fish will be between 10' – 15' deep holding close to the bottom. Jewel Scuba Spoons are starting to work as well, look for schools of spotted bass to be close to the bottom from 25' – 35' deep on gravel flats near deep water.

Kimberling City: The topwater bite has begun to slow in the mid lake just like in Branson. Fishing guides have started concentrating on fish holding tight to the bottom with Jewel Finesse football jigs and Magnum Shakey heads. Green pumpkin candy and PB&J have been the best colors on a 3/8 oz. & ½ oz. football jigs match either with a green pumpkin Jewel J Tail trailer. Match the Magnum Shakey with a bigger bait to draw more strikes; Zoom speed craws, Tightlines UV Enko and UV Beavers have all been great choices.

James River: Still a great shallow bite up the James River. Branson fishing guides have been targeting shallow fish around wood cover with Jewel Magnum Casting Jigs, War Eagle Spinnerbaits and RC Square Bill crankbaits. Look for laydowns, stumps and flooded brush to be holding most of the fish. Crappie have started to show up on bluff banks around Cape Fair, white marabou jigs, Bobby Garland Baby Shad and 2" grubs have been effective around standing timber 10' – 18' deep over deeper water.

White River: The White River continues to be a great area of the lake to fish; shallow or deep fish are being caught from Baxter to Eagle Rock. Early in the day a topwater is still an effective tool; Whopper Ploppers, spooks and Pop-R's have all been effective around standing timber on steeper banks. Mixed rock and gravel main lake and secondary points are holding smallmouth and largemouth; Jewel Finesse Football Jigs and Magnum Shakey heads have been the ticket from 5' – 18' deep. Schools of spotted bass can be found on gravel flats and flat points 25' – 35' deep near deeper water. Jewel Scuba spoons and Rapala Ice Jigs worked just off the bottom.

Limited generation has made the trout bite tougher over the past week. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a couple of floats 6' – 8' down.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Night Crawlers on a drift rig have been a great option from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Egg and scud fly dropper rigs are working on drift rigs from Short Creek to Monkey Island.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
