Branson: Fishing guides have seen a couple of solid bites develop on the lower end of the lake over that past week. There is a great deep bite on Jewel Scuba Spoons and Rapala Ice Jigs on gravel flats that drop into deep water and in the middle of creek arms. Large gravel flats that roll off into deep water have been holding schools of spotted bass close to the bottom 35' – 50' deep, watch your electronics for any fish on the bottom, once one is hooked the bottom will explode with fish. IN creek arms look for shad to be following schools of shad and holding in tree tops 30- 50' deep. The overall depth isn't a factor, the depth of shad and tree tops will determine where the fish are located.

Kimberling City: The mid lake has a strong shallow bite and a very good deep bite just like Branson. Fishing guides have been using Storm Wiggle Warts and SPRO Rock Crawlers on steeper rocky banks to target fish less than 10' deep. Work banks more or less parallel banging the crankbait into rocks and other cover that is holding fish waiting to ambush crayfish and other prey. Jewel Pro Spider jigs have been effective around boat docks as well; look for docks on rocky points and banks to be holding most of the fish and work from the bank out to 15' to be effective. Jewel Scuba spoons have been working in the mid lake just like on the lower end.

James River: Some of the best shallow fishing on the lake is in the James River. Branson fishing guides have been targeting fish with a combination of War Eagle Spinnerbaits, Wiggle Warts and Jewel Magnum Casting Jigs. Spinnerbaits have been most effective on windy days around standing timber and laydowns, cast beyond the cover and pause it for a second next to the timber to draw strikes. Wiggle Warts cast parallel on 45 degree rocky banks have been producing as well, run the bait from the bank to about eight feet deep to be effective. Just about any piece of cover less than 10' deep will produce with a Jewel Magnum Casting jig; laydowns, stump rows, flooded bushes and docks are producing numbers and quality fish in Okeechobee Blue and green pumpkin candy.

White River: Deep or shallow the White River has been a blast for Branson fishing guides to fish over the past week. Deep fish are hitting Jewel Scuba spoons and Rapala Ice Jigs in and around schools of shad 30 – 50' deep. War Eagle spinnerbaits run past standing cedar trees on windy days will produce vicious strikes for bass waiting to ambush baitfish. Wiggle warts ad Rock Crawlers have been very effective on steeper rocky banks when fished from 3' – 8' deep. Jewel Pro Spider jigs worked in the shade of boat docks on rocky points and banks have been producing some very nice keepers.

With all of the rain over the holiday weekend there has been almost constant generation. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a couple of floats 6' – 8' down.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Night Crawlers on a drift rig have been a great option from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Egg and scud fly dropper rigs are working on drift rigs from Short Creek to Monkey Island.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
