Fluke fishing off Sandy Hook 8/6 - 8/8

Capt. Karl McKenna
August 9, 2010
Sandy Hook - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Fluke fishing was up and down this weekend with winds that went from dead calm to 25 knots. When the winds were in the 10 to 15 knot range the fishing was great with lots of shorts and keepers averaging 20 inches plus. When to wind disappeared the fluke were not aggressive and would hang onto the end of the bait and then let go if you added any pressure. Then when the wind was really strong, the fish could not catch up to the baits. Overall there were enough good conditions to make the fishing very productive. There is a lot of fish in the bay and fishing should continue to be good for the few weeks.
