San Juan River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Hello Everyone,
The river flow is around 500cfs, water is clear with some moss.
The upper areas fished good most days with a good midge hatch starting around 9:30am. What has been working for me is A #22-24 red larva's,#24 desert storm, early am to a #24-26 dark gray or black midge pupa's switching over to #24-26 black scintilla bubble midge or a#24-26 iron gray or black Krystal flash midge. Once the fish are sipping I used a #18 black midge cluster and the fish gobbled it up.
The main channel is fishing fair to good. The above patterns early am , switching over to #22 gray foam wing late am into early pm.
The Texas hole down to Death Row has fished good to great using the above patterns.
Simon Canyon to the Crusher hole boat take out has fished good mid morning into late afternoon.
What has worked for me is #18-20 hares ear to a #22 gray foam wing.
For kicks try working the fish with #16-18 yellow or royal stimulator s.
