San Juan River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Hello Everyone,
The river is flowing around 350cfs. The water clarity is around 2-3 feet depending on cold the night before was. The colder the more off colored.
The upper areas are fishing good using #22-24 zebra midges. #16-22 red larva's and red hots. Flesh, yellow or apricot colored eggs. Some heads rising if conditions are right. Small #20-24 black dry fly midge patterns and gnats. The braids are fishing good using above patterns.
The Texas Hole has fished well with above patterns and Leeches. I've done good with a muskrat {Love}leech, trailed by a#22 red hot or a #gray larva. If the nights are cold I find most of my fish in the slower deep runs or where the shallows drop into the deep water. Some holding at the self's. In the afternoons some will move up into the shallows and warm themselves and feed on the afternoon hatch. Texas Hole down to Simon I've been using the above patterns and doing well.
From Simon down to Crusher Hole, I've been using Pheasant tails, RS2's and #22-24 grey or chocolate foam wings. Red Larva's ,Eggs, and #22-24 black head, grey bodied midge.
Hope this helps you get a tight line.
