New Mexico Fishing Report for The San Juan River

Capt. Mark Nesbit
April 20, 2003
San Juan River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Happy Easter,

Fishing has been good this last week. Lot’s of nice fish have been caught lately. Water flow is at 342'cfs. The water clarity is getting better, with visibility about 5-6'. There has been a good late afternoon midge hatch in the Texas Hole and Three Island Run. The beatis hatch has been getting better between 10: am - 2: 00 p.m. thru - out the river system. Midge Pupa and worms have been working well. There has been a few days with some decent dry fly action, should only get better.

Weather has been fairly decent with the mornings being nice and the afternoons becoming breezy.

Crowds have been moderate light lately.

Tight Lines,

Mark
