San Juan River - Freshwater Fishing Report
Hello Everybody,
The river is flowing around 250 cfs, river clarity is around three to four feet. The river is fishing good, and the crowds will be here between Christmas and New Years week-end, Off Season rates are in affect. Lots of great fishing in the riffles. Dry fly fishing is great in the upper braids stretches using size #26 olive & brown midges. Large black midge cluster pattern working good,. and #18 black griffins nat when the midges are clustering. The beatis hatch has been good when the conditions are right.. The lower part of the river is fishing good below Simon Canyon. Streamer fishing is working good using wooly boogers, or zonker patterns. Tight Lines until next time. Mark
