San Juan River - Freshwater Fishing Report

The river is flowing around 3500cfs. The flow's are scheduled to drop apporx.500cfs on work days Mon.-Fri.until the rivr flow is around 500cfs. According to the last B.O.R. release, the river will be at 500cfs 6/29/05. Some of the best fishing the Juan will offer, . will be the first few weeks after the river drops. The 500 cfs flow is my favorite. The fish should be spread through out the river. We had a small ant fall last Sunday. The fish on the river did not respond much. The carp on the lake ate them up. The river has been really off colored during high flow which shut down the dry fly action. The water is clearing and should be in excellent shape by the time the flows have dropped. I caught fish on dries in the T-hole Thursday. The fish were eating small midge clusters in the pm. The caddis and PMD's should be happening any time. Right now the fish are eating small midge larva and pupa's that are in the bright green moss.
This year I can offer you a "package" with guiding and lodging and two meals, call for the best prices in the area.
